‘Why do I have to?: A Book for Children Who Finds Themselves Frustrated by Everyday Rules

As an adult, I always try to set children up for success. I found this book helpful for referring families of students I worked with when faced with everyday challenging situations. It uses precise language and provides excellent everyday scenarios they may face, along with alternative suggestions on strategies they could utilise.
I’ve found that the type of language and how it is communicated with children severely impact interactions. I will include more on the importance of purposeful language in future posts.
